Aironet 1100 Fails to Start-Up Properly

During my attempt to configure an additional Aironet 1100 WAP device (3 of the same units already operating properly), I have found the new unit to fail or never start-up. The unit continually shows the second LED as "Amber" and the third LED as "Red", just after power is applied. Power is being supplied currently via the power adapter provided with the Aironet 1100 Hardware.

If anyone has suggestions, or reference to technical information which will help me in getting the unit operational, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

If the LED states never change, then it may be a hardware failure. Otherwise, please reference the following guide for some indication of the LED states:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a0080797e15.html#wp1030793

Basically, yours is stuck in bootloader initialization if it never gets past the state you reference. You might try a mode button IOS recovery, but otherwise not much you can do to troubleshoot the AP1100s since they have no console access.

Here's the link to the mode button image recovery (it's in the same doc referenced above):

Regards,

Ben
