I currenly own Xircom cwe1130na. From what I understand, the card is a repackaged Cicso aironet 340 pcmcia card. Intel has stopped supporting these cards, a well as ant driver/firmware development. That said, my question is simply this. Can the Xircom card be flashed with the Cisco firmware and/or use the Cisco drivers and subsequently gain the functionality of having more up to date drivers and firmware. I have read that this is indeed possible. but have yet to see any instructins or heard from anyone who has done this, other than to say that they have done it. If anyone has information on tis it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Ok.....I figured it out on my own. The firmware flashed to the current cisco without an problem and the drivers and utilities work prefectly. If anyone would like to know how to get this done...maybe you want to do the same thing, or just for the knowledge..contact me and i will post instructions for this upgrade.
