Aironet 350 wireless network in a hospital environment

We have a rather large wireless network in a hospital(voice and Data), seems to run o.k.

We are using a vpn to authenticate to the wireless network, and running a program called meditech that the end user uses to chart patient info. Seem to be having problems losing connectivity. anyone experince any similar problems.

Thanks

We need to konw more about losing connectivity. If possible try to draw outline diagram of network setup to give more idea. We need to know more like

Was it working fine or new installation (never worked before)?

How long it takes to loose connectivity?

Was wores network with vpn connection works ok?

More symptoms of this issue will help to troubleshoot more.

Re: Aironet 350 wireless network in a hospital environment

Im experiencing the same problems with Meditech. Here is my post

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.ee8e9a5

It gives a basic detail of our setup and what i have done. The changes i made in the bottom of the post did help alot but not completely alleviate the problem. We are using a product called Palmcare from Iatrics for inroom patient charting and this is where we are having most of our problems. Let me know if my situation sounds close to yours. Ill keep you posted if i find anything else out

Re: Aironet 350 wireless network in a hospital environment

It turns out that our data clients were running through a vpn box (checkpoint), and this was causing our telnet session to meditech to be dropped with multiple users. We bipassed the vpn and now it seems to be working just fine.

Re: Aironet 350 wireless network in a hospital environment

I work at a hospital that also uses Meditech. We use the Aironet 1200 access point in ICU and OR along with some non-patient care areas. We authenticate the wireless clients on our ACS server. Also, the wireless access points and the clients are on VLAN's. Have had no problems with losing Meditech connections.
