Antenna on two Bridges

Is it possible to use one antenna (eq yagi) and a splitter with two bridges for "loadbalancing"? that one bridge is on channel 1 and the other on channel 6 with other ssids.

And if yes, are there any problems with interferences when one br recive and the other send over one antenna?

regards Bernhard

Re: Antenna on two Bridges

No. You cannot connect two active devices to the same antenna. The transmit power of one would pretty much blanket reception of the other .... and you probably would blow out the receiver of either or both units.

There are systems to allow this for regular radio (police repeater systems, for example). They use a tuned cavity filter to prevent transmit power from hitting the receive section of the receiver ... tuned cavity filters are very lossy (APs don't have much power to begin with), and would cost you more than another Yagi and cabling.

If you use two antennas (specifically Yagis), keep the spacing no less than a half-wave apart, the further apart, the better (half wave at 2.4G is ~9 inches / ~18 CM).

Good Luck
