Is it possible to make the AP1200 as a bridge unit? what I can see from the role selection is repeater/non-root option.

regards,

Sam

No it is not possible

Hi,

Since AP1200 cannot be configure as a bridge unit, how many repeater is practically can be configure? I need to cover quite a high density of population where physical cabling is not possible. Theorectically is 5-6 repeater?

regards,

Sam

Sam,

You can set up a chain of several repeater access points, but throughput for client devices at the end of the repeater chain will be quite low. Because each repeater must receive and then re-transmit each packet on the same channel, throughput is cut in half for each repeater you add to the chain.

The real practical limit is 2 repeater hops to the root after that throughput is so reduced and the added contention for the radio channel makes it un workable

Why not use BR350's or if you want to use 802.11a BR1400's ??
