AP 1240 to non Cisco

We have some non Cisco AP's that I am trying to configure a Cisco AP 1240 to associate with.

The radio will not come out of "disabled"

Antenna is connected and I have done the basic config, there is no security set up at all on the existing untit.

What are the basic setup parameters for the raido to assiciate with teh other side?

are there any debugs I could look at?

Re: AP 1240 to non Cisco

Hi Richard,

i have never tried this, but have a try to disable the "Aireonet Extensions" in the Express security.

Best regards,

Frank

when you say associate with.. are you trying to run a 1240 as a bridge?

Re: AP 1240 to non Cisco

I am remote from the site where the tech is trying to get this to work.

There are Symbol Spectrum 24 AP 4131 units all associated with each other.

He is trying to get the Cisco to bridge the ethernet connection.

The Cisco is configured as a Workgroup Bridge, but the 802.11 G interface will not come out of disabled mode.

Reading the Symbol manual it says that the WLAP configuration would allow bridging and it is dsabled on all of the Symbol units. But they are all associated with each other and working in the existing network.

The security is identical on the Cisco and Symbol.
