how to load the controller-based "RCV" IOS into the AP and boot this IOS

1.  Download the RCV IOS from the Cisco website.  Make sure the IOS has a file extension of TAR.

2.  Copy the RCV IOS into the AP using the command "archive download-sw tftp:///IOS.tar".

3.  When the process finishes, reload the AP.

Thanks all I got the file back and how would I link this one up with other access controllers?

Ok, now your AP is running on autonomous IOS.  You now need to load the controller-based "RCV" IOS into the AP and boot this IOS.

Once the switch boots into the RCV IOS, please post the following output:

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WLC:  sh time;

3.  AP:  sh version;

4.  AP:  sh ip interface brief; and

5.  AP:  sh inventory

How would I do that Leo? how to load the controller-based "RCV" IOS into the AP and boot this IOS.

Thanks

Yeah how would it connect with WLC?

Have you restored the image?  If you haven't, then your AP is not going to work.  Have you looked at the deployment guides... there are many out there and depending if your AP is autonomous or if you have a WLC, you can find that info.

Thanks,

Scott
