AP DHCP Issue

i configurd dhcp pool in the AP. Still its getting dhcp through the dhcp server located in the network . i want to use the dhcp pool inside the access point. did anyone come across this issue

Hi,

the client uses the IP from the first DHCP-Server it gets an answer from. So if the DHCP-Server on the local LAN is replying quicker, than the client takes that IP.

By the way: Do both (the AP and the Server) serve the same address-space? This would cause some problems, since the two servers could offer duplicate addresses to clients.

However, you could paste the partial config of the AP, so we could check if it should work.

Hi Sebastian;

thanks for your immediate response. i solved the issue by applyig the access list in the fastethernet interface of the ap. I blocked the dhcp reuests coming from and to the fast ethernet.
