Re: Apple TV vs WLC on ISM-SRE-300

the multicast address on the WLC is configured as 239.254.0.3

vlan 1 on 2911 is untagged and is used to communicate with WLC mgmt address 10.0.6.2

from my 2911 I can see the following

ar-lv-br1#sh ip mroute

Apple TV vs WLC on ISM-SRE-300

the problem is solved!

we have 3 interfaces at our router

  • vlan1 - for wlan mgmt
  • vlan 50 - for wifi users
  • g0/1.40 - for LAPs

multicast was enabled only between vl1 and vlan 50

enabling multicast (ip pim dense-mode) on g0/1.40 resolved the issue
