B speeds after G upgrade

I recently upgade my Aironet 1200 to the G radios and have noticed that whenever a b card associates all connections drop down to the lower speeds. I can somewhat understand why this is happening, but has anyone had any experience as to supporting both without additional APs. I don't want to upgrade everyone from B just to support G, and having APs for different signals seems too costly. Any help is appreciated.

I do not think currently there's any method to achieve this unless of course you have different AP for different standards.

We recently are moving to G AP's. I noticed that if you have B cards you will connect B speeds and if you have a G card you will connect with G speed. Although it is not recommended to mix as ocerall speed will dergade.

This was recently (relatively) noted in some of the testing Network Computing did. Although g is backward compaitble with b clients, g throughput suffers while the g AP deals with the older b client.
