Can you "double" the link speed?

I am currently connecting a remote office to the main building using 340 bridges. Can I add another Antenna/bridge to "double" the link speed or will it simply provide a redundant connection?

A second wireless link would be similar to a 2nd cable connecting the two points - there's more link bandwidth there, but you need something that can take advantage of it.

If you connect both ends to a switch, one link will be blocked by spanning tree - which means you've got a redundant link.

If you want to increase your throughput, you'll need to use something that supports load balancing.

Im not sure but maybe you can aggregate the 2 links. You can try it if you want. The 2 ports on 1 switch end should be grouped as well as the other end.

int fa0/1

port group 1 distribution destination

int fa0/2

port group 1 distribution destination

In addition to the Layer 2 issues, you need to have enough separation between the antennas - 2 meters to be safe (using Yagis or grids).

Don't forget to force separate channels at least 5 apart (ch1 & 11 would be best), and don't let the bridges search other channels.

It can double the speed if you configure both end switch to aggregate ports using Fast EtherChannel or multilink. Then configure bridges to use non-overlapping channels, and yes 1 and 11 are best channels to use.
