I have a pretty simple point-to-point bridge setup using Cisco 1300 series bridges running the latest IOS. Bridge at the main site is the root, remote site is non-root. The bridges link up and pass traffic just fine. Problem is, several times a day the root bridge will lose connection to the LAN. From the remote site, I can ping the root bridge just fine, using large packets, no packet loss, 5ms response times. But I cannot get to the rest of the network from there. The root bridge itself cannot ping anything on the local network. After power-cycling the root bridge, everything is happy again. Any ideas?
