Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller

Only two of the eight 10/100 Ethernet ports are 802.3af ready on Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller . What do I need to add four more Cisco Aironet lightweight access points?

Re: Cisco 2106 Wireless LAN Controller

You can either connect them to a 802.3af switch (not 1252), purchase the power injectors or purchase the power adapters. Since you only have to power up 4 more, I would go with the power injectors. The power adapters is only good if you have an outlet by the ap. There are alos power patch panels, but they are pretty expensive.

This is from the 1242 spec sheet:

Powering Options

• Local power

• 802.3 AF switches

• Cisco higher-power switches capable of supporting 13W or greater

• Cisco Aironet power injectors (PWRINJ3 and PWRINJ-FIB)

• Third-party PoE devices (must meet input power and power draw requirements)
