Hi All,

We observed all the Nexus 5 model mobiles are not able to connect to Wi-fi network. Any changes on the WLC could help to resolve it ..?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, are you using WPA2/Aes or WPA/ Tkip ?

Don't use together .

Regards

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

Its a simple L3 Web authentication.

did you tried this ??

On your device, go to System Settings/Wireless & Networks/Wi-Fi, select the Wi-Fi network that you’re trying to connect to, and tap “Forget.” Then reconnect by selecting that network again and entering whatever password that may be needed.

If still fails then...just paste teh exact error what you are facing ???

Regards

Sure. Will try it and let you know.

What is the WLC code you are running. Hope it is not 7.5.102.0 code as it had some bug affecting chrome which is the default browser for those android/google phones

We recently migrated to 7.5. Could you let me know the Bug id details..?

Hi Prasan,

If I find the bug ID, I will post here. But resolution is listed in bleow posts

1. https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2241465

2. https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2237455

We had the same problem (Android phones cannot get into guest portal https://x.x.x.x) with our Guest WLAN anchored to a WLC running on 7.5.102.0 code. Fix was the above work around if you want to stick with 7.5.x train.

Many thanks to you for this details. If i wish to upgrade it to 7.6 in my 5508 controller, is it feasible..?

I have 3600 AP's with AC module with Auto-anchor design.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes it is:

see the comaptibility matrix:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/5500/tech_notes/Wireless_Software_Compatibility_Matrix.html

But I will recommand to go on 7.4 train.

Reagrds

I think 7.4 series code wont support ac module rit... ???

config network secureweb cipher-option rc4-preference enable

Do i have to enable this command on both anchor and foriegn wlc?? and also what is the impact..?

You need to reboot controller to take this effect.

If all your guest traffic is anchored to one controller, this is only required in Anchor Controller.

But those client get IP from any other controller, you have to do this on them as well

I executed that command on only anchor (HA configured) controller and found that anchor took longer time than usual in building a mobility again.(More than 5 mins Wifi was down than expected)

I donno why...? Is this command causing this delay ..?

(Note: After executing this command i did not have nexus5 client to test it... will test it and update here soon)

So you have anchor WLC's in HA using AP SSO?

Thanks,

Scott
