we just installed cells every 3000 feet in a grid throughout a town. now customers are complaining that they rapidly switch between cells. our solution has been to lock them down to a local cell. now if a ap fails and we replace it, customers are out of service till they call and get the new mac address for the local cell. any fixit ideas? thanks in advance.

If you are unhappy with the way roaming or handover is done, you can decrease the power on the access point or try another antenna if that is possible with your network design. In this way you create less overlap in cells and therefor reduce the number of handovers.

Otherwise you should consider placing the access point further apart. It all depends on the network configuration.
