Clients not receiving DHCP IP address from HREAP centrally Switched Guest SSID

Hi All,

I am facing a problem in a newly deployed branch site where the Clients are not receiving DHCP IP address from a centrally switched Guest SSID. I see the client status is associated but the policy manager state is in DHCP_REQD.

The dhcp pool is configured on the controller itself. The local guest clients are able to get DHCP and all works fine, the issue is only with the clients in the remote site. The Hreap APs are in connected mode. Could you please suggest what could be the problem. Below is the out of the debug client.

Clients not receiving DHCP IP address from HREAP centrally Switc

Hi Steve,

Thank you for responding. I am centrally switching the guest. But I also noticied a few clients on the locally WLAN stuck at the DHCP_REQD state. It is happening randomly, I reset the APs and all are back to normal. I am monitoring if it happens again.

Thanks

What is your topology? Do you have an anchor and foreign controller or one controller managing both guest and corporate ssids. Id it is the former, could you paste debug Mobility on the foreign controller.

#does the client at the remote site roams between AP that connects to different WLC?

#type 9 is not good.

Thank you for your response.

The problem dissappeared after i reset the APs and hasnt returned fortunately. If it happens again I will capture DHCP debugs as well.

Regards
