Connection client in WEP to autonomous AP but not to AP LWAPP

Hello,

In a production environment I have clients with proprietary operating system and Intel wifi card 802.11b.

The client supports only WEP128 with shared authentication type.

With an AP AP1242 mod-AIR-E-K9 version 12.3(8)JA2 and the following configuration, the client connects to AP accurately:

Using a centralized infrastructure with controllers 4402 5.0.148.0 and LAP1242 the connection does not happen.

I created a WLANs, set Layer 2 Security: static WEP, selected WEP 104 bit, key1, I inserted a key 26 characters long HEX,

enabled field Allow Shared Key Authentication.

The rest of the parameters I let them default.

The client does not connect and remain in the status associated and Auth NO.

The WEP key is correct!

Someone has an indea?

thanks.

Mirko

Not sure why your WEP with the shared key authentication is not working, but probably no one else has tried it as WEP with open authentication the norm.

do you have a wireless sniffer to observe the authentication or looked in the event logs for any clues.

Have you tried to seting WEP Mandatory on hte controller.

you may be the only one using Shared-Key.

I suggest you open a TAC call or call the device vendor if you haven't already
