Converted AP 1121g to LWAPP

I converted an AP 1121g to Lwapp sucessfully (so it seems) using the Lwapp conversion tool. Once rebooted the WCS only sees the AP sporadically and then the AP drops from view only to show up again with a different AP ID. When it does show I can attempt to reassign some of the details but when I attempt to save the changes the AP drops again. Did I do something wrong in the conversion? Any thoughts!

Hi Daniel,

maybe the Messages from the Logs may give us some hints here. Please post them.

Aware from that: Often the problems within the conversion is the time setting. If the Controller and the AP have different time settings the certificate cannot be accepted as valid and the controller does not associate.

Best regards,

Frank

Below is a copy of the message log. Appreciate your input on this one.

Hi Daniel,

be sure that the country settings of the WLC matches the country settings of the AP.

What WCS Software Version do you use?

Best regards,

Frank

Version 3.2.150.6. The WCS country is set to US.

Hi Daniel,

This may be way off base, but what version are running on the WLC? Support for the AP1121 was only added this past summer in version 4.0.155.0

Have a look at this note for 4.0.155.5 (use this)

Hope this helps!

Rob

Hi Daniel,

nothing else to add to Robs analysis. Upgrade the WLC and it will work fine.

Have good luck.

Best regards,

Frank

I am planning to upgrade the controller this evening. I missed this upgrade announcement along the way. Looks like this could be the answer. I will post the results once completed.... Thanks!

Frank and Rob,

Thanks for the help. I upgraded the conroller and the AP came up with no problem.
