Design Specifications for Oversubscription of Wireless Access Points

Hi,

I was looking for Wireless (802.11b/a) deployment guides and/or design guide guides governing acceptable oversubscription of bandwidth for wireless users. I am interested in oversubscription rates at both the AP-User level and at the upstream provider level.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You

Not sure if you have looked over this PDF or not but it might be useful http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/largeent/netpro/avvid/wireless_register.html

Hi ,

For 802.11b :

How many users per AP ?

In theory you can got beyond 8000 but remember it is shared 11 meg .

Every users shares that 11 meg . More number of users will reduce throughput achived per user . # of users also depends on type of traffic and

application used . Rule of thumb is 20-25 users per AP .
