I believe that is controlled by the default WLAN's Session Timeout of 1800 seconds
Go to WLANs > WLAN > Advanced > change "Enable Session Timeout"

Are you setting up guest account in WLC or WCS? As far as I know you specify the lifetime on the same page where you create the guest user.

on the WLC, the guest after surfing for a period like 30 minutes the WLC ask for validation again.
any idea on how to avoid this?
