HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

  • I have a 5508 running 7.0.240.0 that has 8 subnets defined.
  • The interfaces have been grouped together.
  • The DHCP server is a microsoft server with the 8 scopes defined as a multinet

Issue:

Clients can authenticate and associate to the SSID. Some clients pull and IP and gain access to the WLAN while others get IPs but and end up with limited connectivity or sometimes pull 16 Any ideas? The DHCP pools are /22 and are not depleted.

  • WPA2 enterprise with 802.1x point to a Microsoft Radius server
  • DHCP required configured on the SSID

Re:HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

Hi

Could I ask why in the interface group config you added vlan 120 and 124 when these vlans are not defined in the individual interfaces. Clients that attach to vlans 120 and 124 will no get an ip

Re:HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

They are both defined, I didn't copy those lines from the config.

Re: Re:HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

Your dhcp is not using super scopes correct. You have a desperate dhcp scope per subnet?

Re: Re:HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

I'm not sure as they were configured by a different group. Does the super scope affect the distribution of IPs?

Re: Re:HELP WITH DHCP INTERFACE GROUP ISSUE

Yes it does and its doesn't work well, even if you are on the wired side and connect to a different vlan.

Thanks,

Scott
