How to connect LAP to WLC across a VPN tunnel?

We are needing to put a LAP in a clinic that is on the far side of VPN tunnel. There is no way for the LAP to access the WLC to acquire it's configuration remotely AFAIK. Although we have a  couple spare routers (2610XM and 2811), they don't have the memory/capability to terminal L2TPv3 tunnels to bridge the two locations together. Is there some procedure available that will allow the LAP to access the WLC over the VPN tunnel? Thank you.

Make sure the APs VLAN can ping the Management IP Address of the WLC.

Before deploying them to the site, prime the AP so the AP will know the WLC.  I've got APs in a VRF and they can find their way to the WLC just fine.

Place the ap on the same subnet as the WLC management and allow the ap to join. From the point the AP downloads the code and reboots and is in the join state, you can remove it and place it on any subnet. As long as there is connectivity from the subnet the ap will be on to the WLC, it should join.

I've never "primed" an AP. Is that as easy as plugging it into the VLAN at the main site and then moving the AP to the remote location? Does anything special have to be done on the AP? Thanks for the fast reply.
