iOS devices losing connectivity on WLC 5508

Hello,

I'm currently having an issue with a few clients with iOS devices (iPad and iPhone) that are losing connectivity periodically throughout the day. Android devices are not impacted. It seems to be only under one AP, but I can't confirm that currently. The users say they can be in any app (even native apps) and they will randomly disconnect (the wifi connection stays connected) but they are not able to load anything. It will eventually reconnect and they can start loading data again. During these events, I see nothing reported on the debug event log.

 

So to clarify, the debug shows nothing but normal DHCP requests, no deauths, or timeouts. User idle and session timeouts are set to 24 hours, so I'm not seeing that being any issue.

Hi Matt,

Could you please share "Show wlan wlanid" from controller for WLAN in question.

Under Controller > Fast SSID change > Is enabled.

 

 

Fast SSID is disabled. The WLAN information is located above.

Could you please enable the Fast SSID change.

Also can you make the mandatory rate as 6Mbps instead of 12Mbps.

 

And whats the version of code you're running on controller ?

Why you have disabled N rates ? any specific reasons.

Exactly same issue. I have fought against it for years. I am running WLC 4404. iOS devices lost connection periodically, without anything unusual. The Wi-Fi remain connected, but no traffic went through. iOS automatically disconnected from the Wi-Fi in a few seconds (because it detected no traffic went through), and it took another few seconds to reconnect. Also, it seems multiple devices connected to the same Wi-Fi lost connections in the same time.

I tried 802.1x and Open authentication methods, no help. I also tried to extend ARP timeout, Idle timeout and session timeout, no help.
