Jammer Detected

Hello all,

I have two 1310's running in bridge mode that at times encounter problems with dropping connection.

The only thing I see that may be at issue here is a large number of "Jammer Detected" however I can not seem to locate any information on it.

Any help?

Thanks!

Jammer Detected, is when the AP detects a sustained level of RF energy which it has determined is not 802.11.

Typically 2.4ghz phones, microwaves, etc. I had at one point a physically damaged nic which was just spewing RF, in the 2.4ghz spectrum.

Personally i used the congio spectrum expert to help me locate the issue. Any spectrum analyzer will help you locate the issue at hand.

If you do not have a spectrum analyzer, you can use the tools in the bridge to view channel unitilization to see how much RF is detected on each channel. Let that run for about 5 minutes min to see what channel you can set your bridges for.

The other alternative would be to set the root bridge to use the least congested channel.
