LAPs don't get back to main WLC??

Hello I've got this scenario:

**Branch

LAPs

WLC version 3.2.xxx.x

Backup WLC at HQ

**HQ

LAPs

WLC version 4.2.xxx.x

After WLC at branch failed it's LAPs logged on HQ WLC and still worked but when WLC re-established LAPs wouldnt logged back to Branch WLC.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I guess you didn't enable the option "AP fallback".

It's in the "controller" tab of the wlc web pages.

It makes the AP actively look for its primary wlc to see if it's back up.

Hi,

Like Nico wrote you should enable AP Fallback:

This option determines whether or not an access point that lost a primary  controller connection automatically returns to service when the  primary controller becomes functional again.

Hi guys,

I already checked that option in the both customer's WLCs and it's enabled.

So, it seems it has to do with the mobility group unless you have any other suggestion.

Thanks a lot!!

Re: LAPs don't get back to main WLC??

Hi Nico and Tiago,

Thanks a lot for your posts I will try it as soon as I make contact with my customer later today.

Last Friday I was looking at the User's Guide and I found that "Mobility Group" might be another point to take into account because looking at customer's WLCs they have different Mobility Group names.

Do you think this might be related too?

Thanks!
