large scale wlan deployment with one SSID

I want to deploy a WLAN over a campus with a large number of buildings (3000+ users). On the whole campus there should be the same SSID so that no matter where people go, they always perceive the WLAN as "the same".

Now, of course I do not want to make a WLAN that is attached to a WLAN interface with  a netmask of /20. But how else could I solve this so that there is for the user the illusion of persistency but technically still reasonable discrimination?

I have two Wireless LAN controllers that I want to run sort of active/active HA config.

In the WLC, you have an option called AP Groups.  What this allows you to do is group the AP however you choose.  i.e. By building, floor, etc.

Then you can tell each group to use a different interface on the WLC.

So you have one SSID

CampusEDU

Then in the Math department areas, you send the users to vlan 10

In the Sciences department areas, you send hte users to vlan 110

so on and so forth.
