Low strength problem with Aironet 1300 bridges

Hello, everyone! We have setup a bridge connection (root/non root) using 2 AIR-BR1310G-E-K9-R with 12.3(4)JA. Initially the link strentgh was around -50dBm. A couple of days later the link strentgh failed to -70dBm! Initially we thought that the problem was focused on the outdoor antennas/cables (probably badly sealed connectors) but when we tried with other vendor's equipment on the same antennas (24 dB directional Grids), the link strength was -39dBm!!! The difference can not be explained from the transmittion power difference bettwen the Cisco's and other vendor's devices.

Then we thought IOS. We tried to upgrade to 12.3(7)JA2. The not-root upgraded just fine. When we tried to upgrade the root bridge the link never got up again. When we downgraded the root bridge to 12.3(4)JA again, the link came up at -70dBm. Same happens with all version later that 12.3(4)JA.

The distance is around 1.5 km and we are convinced that the problem are not the cable/antenna's or connectors.

Can anyone help?

What is the power level that is set on the Cisco Aironet bridges? Did you try setting up this bridges in the lab and check if the link comes up? It is always a good practice to set the bridges in the lab and check how it works.
