LWAPP ARP Timers

Hello

I have 118 LWAPP on a management subnet.

The SVI for the management vlan is on a 6509, with STP set for this to be the root bridge.

The 6509 is being de-commisioned and so I copied the SVI configuration over to a new 6509.

I then shut the original SVI down and brought up the new SVI and ensured it was the root bridge for the vlan.

However, the LWAPP all disappeared on WCS once I brought the new vlan up.

I could ping the LWAPP from the 6509 and see ARP entries for the LWAPP, but WCS could not see them and I could not ping them from my desktop machine.

I think that the LWAPP are retaining the MAC of the 'old' 6509 and using that rather than the MAC of the new one.

Does this sound right and if so, how can I change the ARP timer values so that my LWAPP come back?

thanks

Bryn

Issue the arp timeout command in the interface configuration mode in order to change the time in which an entry remains in the ARP cache.
