Maximum number of AP supported has already joined cisco

Dear all,

We have vWLC, AP connected through MPLS network,  we also have ap base license for 15 AP, the problem is that AP cant joint to WLC because of

this error:

Maximum number of AP supported has already joined cisco

WLC shows that all 15 licenses are used, but we have only 3 AP

What is that? bug or not?, everything worked fine before we put new 4 AP into the network

It must be some kind of bug :U can also directly contact to TAC.

But we can try this:

Can you reboot the WLC ?

Console to AP and reboot it then put the entire process here.

Also paste the outpit of there:

WLC: sh sysinfo

AP: sh version

İ already rebooted it, but still stis problem, only when i back it to evalutaion license, ap join and works fine

but thet cant join when the main license is in use

You license is fine or else it wouldn't of taken on the vWLC, its also active....  I would open a TAC case with the wireless team and see what they have to say.

This license is evaluate and it works fine, but when it is our license it shows no AP in summary

You should open a TAC case with the wireless team. Since your AP's join fine with the evaluation license and not the PAID license, there must be something wrong with your vWLC. The wireless TAC team can work alongside the licensing team if it indeed is a licensing issue or if maybe they want to regenerate another license for you.

I'm going off a regular WLC and they have a base license along with a base-ap-count. When you revived your pak files and generated your license, did you only have one license and not the base license also. If you did receive a base license with 0 ap, that has to be installed first, then your base-ap-license of 15. You would have to remove the 15 license firsts and install the base then your 15.

Thanks for the output.

The reason why your AP won't join is because you have enabled multiple regulatory domains and they CONFLICT with each other.

You have enabled countries of Belarus (-I), Mexico, and the US.

I changed it to GB, but again wlc says that

maximum AP is already join (we have only 3 ap)

I ran into this same issue after a reboot of the vWLC.  I saw in the web GUI  that I didn't accept the EULA thus the license was not active.

WLC Web GUI > Management > Software Activation > Licenses > base-ap-count

status:  EULA not accepted

I togged the priority to high and the EULA popped up and I accepted it.  The APs connected to the WLC.
