Hi,

I need to design a solution for a residential colony. The solution should provide indoor wireless coverage to the users inside homes. There is no other cabling infrastructure available in the colony and I was considering to deploy Cisco 1522 Mesh APs as they can backhaul to the wired network over wireless. But the problem is during site surveys, I noticed signal strength of -80dBm or even less inside nearby homes where 1522 AP was mounted.

What could be the way arounds to provide better coverage inside?

Hi, lets figure it out. You have mounted 1522 RAPs and MAPs Outside and try to RF cover Inside the Buildings? Lets think reverse, would you ever try to Cover an Outside Area with an inside mounted AP and Omni Antenna?

What do you think about using 1522 for the Mesh and APs like 1240 in WGB Mode and Outdoor Antenna? Could be a solution, but drives Costs...
