Mobility Express - 2800i - Adding new MoE WLC/AP to existing depoloyment - Bootloop

Dear All

I have a small Mobility Express deployment:

- 1 x 2800i - MoE WLC Primary

- 1 x 2700i - CAPWAP

- Software Version: 8.5.105.0 (Existing MoE AP and new MoE AP)

Now I want to add a second Mobility Express AP (2800i) as a MoW WLC Secondary and I am running on the following issue:

I found a bug who describes this Issue but the Software Version I am using (8.5.105.0) is not listed as affected:

On the existing Mobility Express AP I run the command "config ap next-preferred-master <AP-Name>" to guarantee the new adding Mobility Express AP is not getting the Primary.

Did anybody run in the same or similar issue?

Does anybody have good experience with Software Verison 8.5.120.0 (Cisco recommanded) in a Mobilty Express deployment?

I don't have that experience, but 8.5.130.0 is just around the corner, unless new bugs are found.
You get the beta (final candidate is 8.5.124.64) here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/other-wireless-mobility-subjects/85mr3-interim-build-availability/m-p/3381702
I suggest to either take the beta or wait 1-2 more weeks (maybe more) for the final release.

No, don't have any Mobility Express in use, but I suggest you to use the much newer version.

I downloaded 8.5.124.64 but unfortunately I don't have a version for Mobility Express.

You need to download the file named ap3g3-ME-k9w8-tar.....

That is the MoE file for the 2800 and 3800 series.

8.5.105.0/8.5.107.0 is not a good firmware to run especially with AP2700/3700.

Thanks for your answer. So far the deployment is running with 1 2800i (ME) and 2700i (CAPWAP) with Version 8.5.105.0. But to add a secondary ME, also 2800i (ME), is not working.

Do you have experience with MOE deployment? If yes what Version are you using?

With Version 8.6.110.0 the MoE deployment is running as expected:

- 2800i MOE - Master

- 2800i MOE - Secondary

- 2700i CAPWAP
