MPI350 on Linux associated to AP but can't connect to network

Hello,

I have mini-PCI 350 card (MPI350) in my notebook (IBM R40). I am using Cisco's drivers. My wi-fi network has AP (some model from Orinoco).

My problem:

- configured the card (infrastructure mode, WEP)

- status: card is associated to AP: IP 0.0.0.0

- can't configure IP (doesn't matter if statically or dynamically), snippet of 'dhclient eth1' output:

DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 5

receive_packet failed on eth1: Network is down

The same settings tested on Windows XP and functional.

Is there any possibility to get the card working?

By seeing the error output, I think the problem is with the network only.

Make sure that the NIC is activated properly. Also are you using some older version for the linux box?
