neighbour beacon

In a mesh network, the output for mesh network shows various terms corresponding to the ap.

Like, updated neigh parent beacon , beacon, child beacon . What does these terms indicate.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I think those refer to the neighbor APs role in the mesh network.

Three type of adjacent APs may be exist: Parents, childs and  neighbors.

I think those refer to some of those roles.

Although not clearly metnioned, this link may be useful:

thanks for the reply.

Another point i noticed is , under the neighbor information for a particular mesh or root ap, some of the parents/child is shown with their names. But others are shown with only their mac addresses.

Why is this so.

Re: neighbour beacon

are you sure it is the mac address only? or the default name of the ap?

because the default name contains the mac address as well.

can you plz put a copy of what you see?

Thanks
