outdoor AP in switches what Configurtion need to done on APS

Hi

they are two buildings in main building one planet AP 802.11a/n series is using on other building another one Planet AP 802.11 a/n .

 

in both building we are using Cisco Switches  in main building  in one access switch vtp mode transparent is running in that switch that planet AP is connect with Trunk Configuration.

in other building cisco stack Switches are using with vtp transparent mode is running in that switch that planet AP is connect with Trunk Configuration

some times link is not Stable .

in  cisco switches what configuration need to done weather APs are in Access Mode or Trunk

experts please advice

we are using Bridge mode

Hi

 First off, AP need to support trunk config on its ports. Considering it supports, then, you need trunk if you have more then one SSID on it. If you have let´s say Guest and Cort SSID, each one of them must be mapped to a VLAN on the AP side. The AP then need to be in trunk with the Switch and on the switch side you need to have both vlan as well. 

  If you have only one SSID, then you can put the port in access both AP and switch and on the switch.

Here in main building there is core switch and WLC 5760 three SSIDs and other building 5 APS which are registering in Main Building WLC

two building main and other building there is connectivity of wireless out door AP these two APS are connected to the cisco  Switches with trunk configuration 

please find the RSSI value of these two out door APS   in cisco switches these are in trunk Mode just for connectivity  .

i need advice weather these APs should in trunk or access or any other append configuration in switches
