PEAP SUPPORT A.P. 1200 + Microsoft Windows XP+SP1 Cisco ACS 3.1(beta) ACU

Hello,

I would like to talk to people who have experience with above subject,

I am working on the High school of Amsterdam and whe have problems with the PEAP version of Microsoft and the PEAP version of Cisco. It looks like they are not the same standard !

At this moment PEAP only works with the beta ACU (and ACS 3.1 beta) and NOT with Microsoft XP + SP1. I Hoped Microsoft XP + SP1 worked together with the PEAP version of Cisco but it didn't. ?

Waiting for a reaction,

With Kind regards,

Gertjan Scharloo

WRONG answer : There is an difference !

Cisco :

As you may or may not know, getting information out of Microsoft can be

difficult. We've been trying relatively unsuccessfully to get PEAP

implementations, specifications from them since April. Only in July did

they start to show what they were building, and that was to customers

BEFORE it was to Cisco (inferences on how strategic our partnership is

you can draw for yourself.)

Microsoft has made explicit differences in their PEAP implementation

that we cannot support out of the box. We plan on patching and/or

releasing ACS 3.2 to address MSFT PEAP differences quickly after 3.1

(within 90 days).

In the meantime, Microsoft doesn't have a PEAP server shipping either.

Their client also has no native support for LDAP or for OTP vendors, two

big benefits of our client PEAP implementation. So, we are encouraging

customers to use Cisco's PEAP client and PEAP server implementations,

both of which should be FCS from CCO by the end of this month."
