Private VLANs and WLANs

Has anyone implemented PVLANs on a large wireless LAN network to limit broadcast traffic? It is expected that almost 100% of the traffic will go off the VLAN to different subnets so intra-VLAN traffic will be minimal at most.

Without having tested this, we were looking at possibly instituting PVLANs of class C size or smaller in a VLAN sized at four class C networks (1022 hosts, 1 gateway address, and 1 broadcast address). The thought is to initially use 11b and migrate to 11g when available.

I have heard that using PVLAN in WLAN, you wil be able to limit broadcast.

You can go through this document which is useful:

That will limit layer 3 broadcasts,

Unfortuantly even with VLAN's you still share the same radio media and as such if you have excessive layer 2 broadcasts then the performance of all VLANs will be affected. This is just something to keep in m,ind with scaling and designing your network

Here is some good information on implementing wireless vlans
