Problem in pinging Nonroot clients when Root Arp caching is enabled

Level 1

I have a cisco 1242 with IOS version 12.3.11(JA1)and two Non-root bridges. One of the Non root bridges is a Cisco 1242 with IOS version 12.3.11(JA1)and another Non-root bridge is a Wireless bridge BR-350 with VX-works version 12.05.

In the above scenario if "Dot11 arp-cache Optional" is enabled in the Root-1242 then we loss pings to Non-root clients. We can again start pinging the Nonroot-clients only when ARP-caching is disabled in the Root. However if we disable Arp-caching, the clients which are connected to cisco 1242 configured as a Workgroup bridge stop pinging.

Can anybody help me get a perfect config for the Root bridge which will help me make them work together with Nonroot 1242 and BR-350 as well as WGB-1242

Thanks in advance
