Problems Upgrading an IOS 1231G to LWAPP

I have two 1231G AP's that I want to upgrade to LWAPP to use in my new Airespace network, but I am having trouble getting the upgrades to work. I have used the Upgrade Tool, and it says the upgrade was successful, but when we try to connect the AP's to the controller, the AP will try to authenticate, it will fail, then reboot. It stays in this boot loop as long as it is plugged up. I have made sure the port the AP is plugged into is configured correctly, and have verified that Option 43 is configured on the scope. I can plug up a LWAPP 1242A/G to the same port and it will come up fine.

Any one have any suggestions on why the upgraded radio will not authenticate?

Thanks in advance...

2 things to verify :

- your airespace WLC is in LAYER3 mode

- option 43 is configured for aironet access Points since it's a different configuration from airespace accesspoints (see doc for upgrade to lwapp, appendix A : configuring option 43)
