Regulatory wireless question, WLC, WAP and WAP Module..

Ashley Hare

Hello,

Would the following hardware have compatibility issues?

  • WLC - AIR-CT2504-K9
  • WAP - AIR-CAP3602I-E-K9
  • WAP Module - AIR-RM3000AC-A-K9

I've read various articles which indicate that the WAP radios can only work on a single regulatory compliance band but country codes can be amended to make them work together, albeit not recommended.

I've not come across an article which details compatibility between the WAP and the module, though.

Hi,

Check the country configured on WLC by issue the command: sh sysinfo

-E- regulatery domain for europe...

-A- domain for America region

Thank you, but that did not answer the question.

Hi,

this is related to respective regulatery domain.

  • WAP Module - AIR-RM3000AC-A-K9  --> this is only valid for america region. you cant use with -E- domain.

Regards

I'm aware of the regulatory compliance element and that you can't use A within an E domain.

Sorry. To summarise my question is:

Am I able, at all, to use the A module with the E WAP?

Hi,

As per my knowledge,

I will say again that you can not use A module with E domain.

You can only use A module with only A domain WAP.

E module with E domain WAP.

There is no specific document about this still i will try to findout and you can also ask your cisco device supplier, may be he can clarify.

NOT going to work.

Thanks. I thought that would be the answer - I was just wondering if anyone had tried and what the results were.

Thank you for taking the time to rate our posts, Ash.  laugh
