Secure point to point access with APs.

Hi,

I have two 1100APs, with that i want to connect my two lans. i don't want any other Laptops in the region should sense the my APs.

What configuration needs to be done APs.

Depending on your IOS version, it's likely tha you can configure the units for "bridge mode" which (should) will exclude "regular" clients from connecting.

You should still enable the highest security for the link ... nothing less than WPA-PSK with a strong passphrase.

You can also put in a MAC filter that only permits the other AP from connecting ... note that it is (probably) possible for someone to spoof the MAC.

If you shut down the SSID broadcast then casual users (using MS XP) won't accidnetly try to connect.

You're dealing with radio traffic here, so concevably, if someone really wanted to get your traffic they can ... it's just a matter of making the effort more than the reward.
