SYS-3-CPUHOG: message on 1100 AP

Hi,

This message was just logged by one of my 1100 APs.

%SYS-3-CPUHOG: Task is running for (0)msecs, more than (2000)msecs (1359/7),process = RADIUS.

The only time this device uses Radius is to authenticate to a WDS-AP.

The AP seems to be running fine and we've had no complaints. The only reference I can find regarding this error message is that, if reported during normal operations, consider upgrading the IOS. This particular AP has been running for a couple of years without any issues. I'm more inclined to let it slide unless it occurs more often.

...opinions/suggestions/explanations please.

.......thx............Jamie

Re: SYS-3-CPUHOG: message on 1100 AP

if this happens only the once or very rarely, then i would not worry about it.

if this is a continuing error message i would verify this is not a bug via the bug toolkit as described in the link above. in this case, i would upgrade the IOS on the device.

please see the following link for more info on CPU HOG during normal operations:

(may be similar to what you've already seen)
