Hello,
Sorry for my English, but I am French and I do not speak very quite English.
I will like to know which is the VCI string for an AP 1232AG to inform in the 43 DHCP Option.
Could you help me ?
Thank you
Ben

You can try to customize these settings for a Cisco Aironet 1240 Series AP:
Option 60 (VCI string): Cisco AP c1240
Option 43:
Type: 241 (decimal)
Length: Number of controller IP addresses X 4
Value: List of WLC management interfaces (typically translated to hex values)
Hope it helps,
Adrian

In fact, in this document, there is the VCI string for AP1240, but not for AP1230. So, I hope that is possible to use DHCP Option 43 with AP 1230.
Can you say some to me more ?

Hi Ben,
From what I know and have read the correct VCI string for the 1230 is;
Cisco Aironet 1200 Series;
vci string = Cisco AP c1200
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_quick_start09186a00805100f5.html
Migration from autonomous access point mode to lightweight mode is possible on these Cisco Aironet access point platforms:
All 1130AG access points
All 1240 AG access points
For all IOS-based 1200 series modular access point (1200/1220 Cisco IOS Software Upgrade, 1210 and 1230 AP) platforms, it depends on the radio:
if 802.11G, MP21G and MP31G are supported
if 802.11A, RM21A and RM22A are supported
The 1200 series access points can be upgraded with any combination of supported radios: G only, A only, or both G and A.
From this doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html
Hope this helps!
Rob

hi Ben ,
1230 belongs to 1200 group so you need to use
Cisco AP c1200 as VCI string .
Hope this will resolve your query
