WEP Required in Associate Response

We are getting the following error on non-root bridge. The bridges are setup to communicate with MIC, TPIK, and Leap. We are not able to setup WEP on the non-root once leap is enable. Is this message something I should be concerned of? I am able to communicate across the link regardless.

WEP Required in Associate Response from Parent [HSA-PENWKS-WB01]004096584547, though this system disallows WEP

thanks,

Dan Laden

Re: WEP Required in Associate Response

Verify that your card supports WEP by checking the model number. If you have a AIR-PCM340, AIR-PCI340 , or AIR-ISA340, there is no WEP option.

If you are trying to enable 128 bit WEP encryption, verify that it is supported. The Data sheets for Cisco Aironet Wireless 340 Series and 350 Series products provide information on supported encryption key lengths.

The specific model numbers for products also give WEP capable information. Also, a the user wants to create a 128-bit WEP link, Cisco products only interact with other Cisco products.

Any help to setup WEP can be obtained by going through the following document:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/102/wlan/confwep.html#setting

The error message can be ignored since its not causing any issues. Moreover, this error message is not explained in the list of errors that causes troubles.

You can go through the following documents to get informtaion on the various error messages that affects the performance:
