Hi,

From which controller AP will join it is depends on our configuration on each WLC: The AP can be configured to recognize its primary and secondary controller name.

Wireless > Access Points > All APs > Select AP > High Availability Configuration

Change the primary wlc ip and name to 2nd wlc ip address/name , then check again.

More info about failover:

Thanks for your reply,

Already i configured HA Configuration on all AP, and working well.

but i mean there are some AP leave primary controller and join Secondary for 2 min approximately and returned again to Primary WLC. While these AP previously configured with HA Configuration.

Plz give me your feedback.

Thanks

means AP are loosing connection with primary wlc thats the only reson to join 2nd WLC.

Regards

Thanks for your support.

Please can you clarify why APs loosing connection with Primary WLC however it's up and joined on it more than 300 AP in different sites.

For Clarification AP join on Secondary WLC and fallback to Primary within 2 minutes approximately.

Wait your feedback please,

Thanks,

How to change  country on WLC:

By CLI

Before you can change the country code of a WLC, you must disable the 802.11a and 802.11b network :

config 802.11a disable network

config 802.11b disable network

Now you can change the country code of the controller. In this case we change it from CN to FR (France)

config country FR

then enable again the both networks

config 802.11a enable network

config 802.11b enable network

By GUI:

First disable both network 802.11a and 802.11b

Follow these steps to disable the 802.11a and 802.11b/g networks as follows:

    Choose Wireless> 802.11a/n > Network.
Unselect the 802.11a Network Status check box.
Click Apply to commit your changes.
    Choose Wireless > 802.11b/g/n > Network.
Unselect the 802.11b/g Network Status check box.
Click Apply to commit your changes.

Change country code on WLC now:

Choose Wireless > Country

Regards

Can you check these:

Tue Jun 3 13:16:59 2014    AP on the 802.11a radio with Base Radio MAC 34:a8:4e:bb:08:90 (90068-02) is unable to associate. The regulatory domain configured on it '-E' does not match the controller's regulatory domain: -C.

Both AP and WLC must match the reulatery domain.

Paste output from AP: sh version

Paste from WLC: sh sysinfo

Regards

Plz find attached files

Sh ver --> AP

sh sysinfo --> 2 WLC

For clarification we have this log also

Tue Jun 3 13:20:36 2014    AP '90068-02', MAC: 34:a8:4e:bb:08:90 disassociated previously due to Link Failure. Uptime: 0 days, 18 h 46 m 25 s . Reason: Capwap WTP Event request.

If this mean the AP loosing connectivity due to network/routing issue ?

or as example AP send CAPWAP message and didn't receive response from Primary WLC so join on secondary and once get the response from primary returned and join to it.

Wait your feedback plz,

Thanks,

Hi,

As per your logs:

1st wlc have country code france.

(WiSM-slot2-1) >show sysinfo
System Name...................................... RMS-WLC1
Configured Country............................... FR - France

2nd wlc have country code China.

(WiSM-slot2-1) >show sysinfo
System Name...................................... UTO-WLC1
Configured Country............................... CN - China

and your AP only can be used for europe domain:

AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9

So it can work with china domain. You must change the country code on your UTO-WLC1.

Thanks for your reply,

OK i agree with you about country coded. but this not related to AP joined on Secondary and Quickly fallback to primary again.

wait your feedback.

I am not sure about this. But give a try and change country first and test it again. It may helps and then we can go ahead with troubleshooting.
