wifi signals in moving vehicle

Hi there!

I was just wondering that is there any limitation of speed of wifi user moving around in the coverage area. like if someone is moving in a car in wifi coverage area, is there any restriction on speed of the moving car to sustain proper communication over wifi connection.

Re: wifi signals in moving vehicle

Hello Waqas,

there is some effect that client's moving speed has on how the 802.11 signal is received and transmitted, but more importantly it will effect how well can the client roam between wireless cells without losing connectivity. Cells will need to have enough overlap to allow proper roaming. Also, client's driver's roaming logic will have to be aggressive enough to initiate roam from one cell to another in advance.

Regards,

Roman
