Wireless clients are being excluded

Using WLC 4402 with lightweight access points. Some valid clients are being excluded because of an association failure.

Why is this happening and how do you remove them from the excluded list?

If you want to remove them manually, then you have to go to the excluded client list and remove them. If you want to, you can disable that feature in the advanced tab in the WLAN SSID. Verify the wireless profiles on the client and make sure they are not trying to connect to another ssid that is configured on the WLAN, this will also cause then to be excluded. Unless you only have one ssid configured.

Hope this helps.

Hi Scott

Thanks for the reply. I have tried to remove them from the excluded client list but they remain after clicking remove?

Weird I know? Any ideas?

Regards

Gary

Hi Gary,

Clients get excluded for different reasons, e.g. too many authentication requests in a given time. This can be caused by a wrong username/password. Did you reenter the credentials on the affected clients?

Regards,

Sebastian

Like the other post, must be bad authentication. Remove the excluded client configuration from the wlan and see if the user is able to authenticate... if not, then the device is not configured right.
