Wireless Setup Issue

Hi all.

We have just swapped ISP's for our business and no longer have DCHP. So I have to manually configure every machine we have throught the building. Now I have a Aironet 1200 connected throught the switch that cannot be setup due to the fact that anyone that tries to connect to it can only see it. They would have to know the available IP, DNS, and gateway to connect.

I have a Cisco 2651 router available that we just disconnected, due to the fact that they installed a 1700 series router.

Is there anyway to integrate the old router with the new one in order to place the wireless in a secure environment as well as provide public access to our customers?

Thanks for any help

Re: Wireless Setup Issue

Why not use the old router to do DHCP (Assuming you control the router)? That may be the quick easy fix. Here is a sample config. Hope this helps.

ip dhcp pool DHCPPOOL

network 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0

domain-name

dns-server

default-router 10.0.0.1

netbios-name-server

lease 7 (number of days)

! range to exclude below

ip dhcp excluded-address 10.0.0.1 10.0.0.10

ip dhcp excluded-address 10.0.0.250 10.0.0.255
