Hi,
I've a network with a lot of 7921 ip phone ( 1.1.1 or 1.0.5 firmware ).
I've noticied that a lot of times an ip-phone near and access-point keep the association with another far away AP, with a poor signal.
Any suggest ? Is there some best practices about "client roaming" settings in wireless web page ?
Many thanks in advance
Luigi

Have you looked over this document:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/6_0/english/deployment/guide/7921dply.pdf
This doc explains some setting like data rates to use and best practices. Data rates 1,2 & 5.5 should be disabled unless required by legacy devices. Also I would assume that you don't have aggressive load balancing enabled on the wlc. How are the phones getting 2 different versions of code... they should pick up one when the boot from CM.

Hi Fella,
thanks for the answer.
On the ccm I can specify which firmware to load on per-device basis.
I knew the doc You submitted; unfortunately i followed all indications .
Many thanks

Check if you have aggressive load-balancing enabled..

If so, disable it
