WLC 5500 with NPS DHCP not working

Hi.. I had a NPS issue earlier and was able to get that squared away.. it gets associated to the WLAN and also authenticated with NPS..

but when it trys and grab a DHCP or IP address it never gets it...  here is the debug client I ran on the WLC...

btw I setup a Guest Wlan which is on a different subnet say ex. 231.8 and it worked without any issues but that authenticated using PSK and web policy.

it pulls the DHCP address from the correct scope which is my external DHCP server.

the other  WLAN I setup with AD credentials is the one I am having issue with and the subnet for ex. is 232.8 ,

172.17.16.50 = my external DHCP server

172.17.232.8 = my WLAN interface

172.17.232.1 = route address I setup in my dhcp scope options

please see thru the log and see if anything comes to mind.. and also ask me any questions if you need to know my setup.

ip helper  was setup on that subnet, it did not do anything.

Thanks.

Re: WLC 5500 with NPS DHCP not working

Have you tried connecting a laptop to a switchport configured for that vlan to test?

WLC 5500 with NPS DHCP not working

Thanks for the replay and good troubleshooting step.. I Just tried.. it looks like my laptop is not getting any DHCP when I connect my laptop to that switchport on that Vlan..

will need to speak to my data communications team and see why it isnt working..

I checked the port it look like it has the right Vlan on it..

will report back..

anything else I should have them look into ?

No... they are probably not extending that vlan throught the trunk port... once your laptop gets an ip, then you should be good.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott  thank you for your help.. I was able to have our data communications team fix the problem.. apprently  DHCP was blocked in the ACL.. they allowed it and  my clients are connected and getting DHCP now..
