WLC4404's Running L3 with Vernier on L2 only vlans

I am running 4400's in l3 mode to the ap's on normal routable vlans it works great dhcp works etc. On the 2 l2 vernier vlans is the problem. it takes like 1 and a half minutes to get assigned a dhcp address. the vernier box gives out 42.0.0.x/30 addresses to clients. in the interface tab of wlc, you must specify ip information for the vlans. both need to be 42.0.0.x. the dhcp server is the virtual of the vernier box 42.0.0.1. Is there a way to turn off dhcp relay in controller and have it allow broadcasts of dhcp without relaying it? the clients eventually do get a 42.x.x.x address after the wlc has sent it to the int ip, gateway, virtual address then to 42.0.0.1 finally

configuring dhcp proxy disable command will be able to have the controller send out a DHCP request as a L2 broadcast.

Re: WLC4404's Running L3 with Vernier on L2 only vlans

That is incorrect... setting 'dhcp proxy' to disabled will only prevent the WLC from routing DHCP through the virtual interface (so clients' request will be forwarded to the dhcp server untouched, and the offers/acks will be untouched too, so the client sees the DHCP server IP instead of the virtual IP address of the controller as it's DHCP server).

True DHCP bridging is coming in a future release.
